I want to thank the author for sharing her experience with HD. It helps to read another's account of living a life affected by this disease--as fully and happily as possible. We are also determined, as she and her family appear to be, to be mindful that the point is: to be thankful for life, to watch for, and be ready to receive life's joys and blessings in the midst of the work. I am hopeful that we will meet future challenges with courage and grace, as she has. (As for how often to visit the ill spouse--no one can know the cost of these visits to you & your children but yourselves. God bless you.) My heart goes out to her, to my daughter, who is also a mother of children at risk, and to any who find themselves living these challenges.Product details

Should have known by the title that this was a big pity party, nothing but poor me. Whatever happened to the person who was afflicted and the children facing the possibility of this horrible disease? It's not "her" life that is ruined, but theirs. My husband was diagnosed with this disease at a much older age than is usual. So I am looking for enlightenment and coping skills, neither of which the author seems to possess.
A must read if you are interested in Huntingtons disease, keeps you wanting to read more and more, and never stop.
I struggle daily with everything in this book. H.d. consumes a family. The thoughts are as if she read my mind. I wish everyone I know would read it because I have moments when I want to scream at my friends for their trifles.
